Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua has kept his childhood dream to build an hospital dedicated to treating sick and injured cats.
The governor revealed the hospital, constructed at a cost of sh 30 million,  will help cater for tourists who want to visit the county but cannot do so for fear that their feline pets may get ill with nowhere to take them for treatment.
He revealed the hospital will serve -for free – all cats from the other Ukambani counties.
“I was shocked that since independence, no Kamba leader had ever thought of taking care of our cats. I am happy to announce that through my Maendeleo Chap Chap initiative, we are the first county in Kenya to have this important facility,” he told a crowd of cheering supporte
